Author and illustrator of this touching and truthful history is the famous artist Gennady Spirin. Once, when the artist's son, Ilya, was a little five year old boy he found in the park with a black raven wings, and brought her home. When the vet said that the bird is no longer able to fly, it was decided to leave Martha at home, treat and care for her, hoping for a miracle.
