Two Fates by Vladimir Vysotsky and Mihail Chemiakin






The book is a creative and documentary evidence of close friendship between the poet Vladimir Vysotsky (1938-1980) and Mikhail Shemyakin (1943) - a friendship that began with the first meeting in 1975 and ended with the untimely death of Vladimir Vysotsky in 1980.

For the first time published a cycle of forty-two illustrations to the works by Vladimir Vysotsky, over which the Shemyakin worked for three decades. In these figures made a profound interpretation of the art world Vysotsky. Insightful interpretations of famous songs offered by Shemyakin, in many cases based on the remaining memory of the artist in conversation with the poet, many of whose works are devoted Shemyakin or were influenced by the contact with him.

Also for the first time published a full version of Shemyakin memories of friendship with Vysotsky, and his detailed commentaries to the illustrations. Vysotsky's poem for this book (forty-two - to match his poet years) selected by Shemyakin, who also submitted additional illustrative material: autographs, letters, photographs of Vysotsky.
